Yoetzet Halacha
Dr. Jordana Topp, along with her role as Rebbetzin of Beth Jacob Congregation, and a dentist, treating patients who have limited access to care, is the Los Angeles Community Yoetzet Halacha. Jordana is a graduate of Stern College, Rutgers Dental School, and Nishmat’s Yoetzet Halacha Program; and studied at Michlalah and Nishmat seminaries in Jerusalem.
Yoatzot Halacha are female halachic advisors trained at Nishmat’s Keren Ariel Halachic Institute in Jerusalem or Nishmat's Miriam Glaubach Center in the U.S. After a rigorous 26 month course of study, they are certified by a panel of Orthodox Rabbis to be resources for women with questions regarding Taharat Hamishpacha, laws related to women and Mikvah. The role of a Yoetzet Halacha was created to help any woman who is more comfortable discussing these personal issues with another woman.
