Beth Jacob Sponsors Itamar Security Project
Dear Friend,
We are proud to inform you how Beth Jacob Congregation is directly
contributing to improve the security of our brothers and sisters in Israel.
In Itamar, 22 Israelis have been murdered in terrorist attacks including
most recently in March 2011, with the horrific murder of the five members of
the Fogel family.
Itamar's Mayor Moshe Goldsmith, together with Shomron security officials
and the One Israel Fund, have identified different security projects which
would vastly improve security in Itamar with one of the most significant being
the installation of a new Thermal Day/Night Camera System.
Using the funds we
collected from many of you in the aftermath of the Fogel tragedy, Beth Jacob is
contributing $17,000 to be the main sponsor of this crucial project. The
thermal camera system will not only cover the most threatened point in Itamar
but will also supply much needed surveillance to a very wide and otherwise
vulnerable area.
The thermal camera
system should be operational soon. A video feed is being arranged in
Itamar to show our community how we have helped.
Our participation in this project will help protect against future attacks
while providing emotional and psychological relief to the residents of Itamar.
All of you deserve to be proud of this wonderful declaration of achdut (unity)
which shows the positive results when we as a community work and act together.
Kol Hakavod!
May we be blessed with besurot tovot, with good tidings of peace and
security for Am Yisrael.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Kalman Topp Ari
