On January, 3rd Beth Jacob was honored to host the Civiccare Los Angeles Mayoral Debate. Organized by local community members, the debate featured all of the major candidates for the position of Mayor of Los Angeles. The Shapell Sanctuary was filled to capacity with community members, local and national media, and moderated by Jewish Journal President David Suissa. The candidates discussed a range of issues from jobs to budgets to sanitation and the debate was both spirited and civil. Beth Jacob is proud of the role we play as a hub for religious and civic activity and we hope to continue to be a model for engagement with the broader community.
